iShares Silver Trust Sees Surge in Options Trading

On February 6th, 2025, the iShares Silver Trust (NYSEARCA:SLV) experienced a significant uptick in options trading activity. On this particular day, traders bought 460,011 call options for the stock, marking an increase of around 27% compared to its average volume of 362,465 call options.

Similarly, Moloney Securities Asset Management LLC raised their stake by 3.3% in the same quarter, now owning 11,097 shares worth $315,000 after adding 356 shares to their portfolio. Furthermore, Riggs Asset Management Co. Inc. boosted its holdings by 4.3% in the fourth quarter, resulting in ownership of 8,838 shares valued at $234,000 following an acquisition of 364 shares. Columbus Macro LLC saw a 1.8% increase in their stake during the third quarter, bringing their total to 20,462 shares valued at $588,000 after buying 368 additional shares. Lastly, Redhawk Wealth Advisors Inc. increased its stake by 4.6% in the fourth quarter to 8,472 shares, valued at $223,000 after acquiring 372 shares.

As for the trading performance, SLV stock opened at $29.35 on Thursday. The stock has a market capitalization of $13.78 billion, a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of -7.01, and a beta of 0.43. Investors can note that the fifty-day simple moving average for the stock is $27.70, with a two-hundred-day simple moving average of $27.70 as well. Additionally, the iShares Silver Trust has recorded a one-year low of $20.11 and a one-year high of $31.80.
